Your possibilities are endless when your car can tow heavy loads. Whether you’re moving, hauling for work, or just on a road trip, your vehicle’s ability to tow allows you to get even more use out of your vehicle.

Ford has been creating towing champions for decades, and the new Ford Bronco Sport is no different. We’ve assembled this guide to help you get more acquainted with the Ford Bronco Sport and its towing features.

Ford Bronco Sport Capability

Depending on which model you choose, you’ll have varying capabilities and available hardware with the Ford Bronco Sport. With the base trim’s 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, you’ll be able to tow up to 1,500 pounds without breaking a sweat.

To increase towing capacity, you’ll want to upgrade your engine to the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. The maximum towing capacity you can reach with this vehicle is 2,200 pounds with the upgraded engine and the addition of the Class II Trailer Tow Package.

2021 Ford Bronco Sport Towing Tips

As with any towing excursion, you must distribute your cargo within the towing trailer properly to make driving easier on yourself. Keep a center of gravity low while also keeping 60 percent of your load towards the front of the trailer and the remaining 40 percent towards the rear.

While on the road, take care while braking and turning. Allow much more distance when you begin slowing down, as the extra weight in the rear will carry your vehicle farther when decelerating. When turning, make sure to leave enough room to account for the curb. Towing a trailer can be an adjustment in itself, so it may be a good idea to take your vehicle out for a test spin before loading up.

Now that you know how to tow like a pro, come on down to Mac Haik Ford Lincoln to take one of our Ford models out for a test drive. We look forward to seeing you soon!
