All About the 2020 Ford Transit

All About the 2020 Ford Transit
Whether you have a large family or own a small business, the 2020 Ford Transit has what you want. Its customizable interior and capable engine make it a great choice for anyone in need of a passenger or cargo van. Let's explore more of what makes this the right vehicle for you.

Versatile Interior

The versatile interior of the Transit van means you can use it to carry cargo or accommodate passengers. With the cargo van models, you get heavy-duty cargo flooring, cargo tie-down hooks, and driver and front passenger manual reclining bucket seats with adjustable headrests. As for the passenger van, it has the ability to seat up to 15 people, making it a good choice for large families or businesses that need to transport big groups. Up to 100.5 cubic feet of cargo space is available behind the back row of seating in the extended-length Transit Passenger van. The passenger version of this van also has a power sliding side door that allows for easy access getting in and out of the vehicle. Several upfit packages are available to help you customize this van to meet your needs perfectly.

Powerful Performance

Two engine options are available. They are a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 and a 2.0-liter EcoBlue bi-turbo inline-four diesel engine. For optimal fuel efficiency, both of these engines have auto start-stop technology. With this feature, the engine shuts down when you're stopped, and as soon as you begin to accelerate, it starts back up. A 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift is paired to either engine and allows you to move through the gears effortlessly. The independent Macpherson front strut suspension and the rear leaf springs with heavy-duty gas shock absorbers give you a smooth ride even on the roughest roads. New for the 2020 Ford Transit is an available all-wheel-drive system. Equipping this on your van will allow torque to go between the front and back wheels as needed, giving you better handling and maximizing traction.

Reliable Safety

You can feel safe behind the wheel of your Transit van regardless of the model you choose. A tire pressure monitoring system lets you keep an eye on the condition of your tires, so you can prevent flats and blowouts. An optional back-up alarm will warn people when you're backing up, so they can remain a safe distance from you. The Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assist features includes post-collision braking, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, auto high-beam headlamps, and a lane-keeping system. Optional features with this suite are adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert and trailer coverage, a front and rear split-view camera system, and an adjustable speed limiting device. An available SOS post-crash alert system will send out an alert if your airbags are deployed. If you need a versatile vehicle for your business or large family, then the 2020 Ford Transit is for you. We’ve assembled this guide to help you get more acquainted with the Ford Bronco Sport and its towing features. more Ford Bronco Sport Capability Depending on which model you choose, you’ll have varying capabilities and available hardware with the Ford Bronco Sport. With the base trim’s 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, you’ll be able to tow up to 1,500 pounds without breaking a sweat. To increase towing capacity, you’ll want to upgrade your engine to the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. The maximum towing capacity you can reach with this vehicle is 2,200 pounds with the upgraded engine and the addition of the Class II Trailer Tow Package. 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Towing Tips As with any towing excursion, you must distribute your cargo within the towing trailer properly to make driving easier on yourself. Keep a center of gravity low while also keeping 60 percent of your load towards the front of the trailer and the remaining 40 percent towards the rear. While on the road, take care while braking and turning. Allow much more distance when you begin slowing down, as the extra weight in the rear will carry your vehicle farther when decelerating. When turning, make sure to leave enough room to account for the curb. Towing a trailer can be an adjustment in itself, so it may be a good idea to take your vehicle out for a test spin before loading up. Now that you know how to tow like a pro, come on down to Mac Haik Ford Lincoln to take one of our Ford models out for a test drive. We look forward to seeing you soon!
